Background on My Life Science Journey – Delivering Value to My Clients

I have been in Life Sciences for over 20 years and it all started with a startup company called Parkstone. I was in the field deploying state-of-the-art hand-held e-prescribing devices that would leverage an internet (dial-up) connection to send the prescriptions to the local pharmacy. – circa. 2002

Aside from having the ability to do multiple script refills with a couple of taps of a stylus the device would do drug-to-drug interactions on the fly and provide patients with formulary costs based on their health insurance coverage. This really seems funny as I type this, as this is pretty much the standard now in doctor’s offices.

While working at Parkstone in a start-up environment I learned that sometimes you just had to “make it happen” for the customers and there wasn’t always going to be a clear path for you to follow since we were trailblazing a lot of the deployment, training, and support activities.

I believe that my startup experience has shaped me into a flexible technologist with broad but in-depth experience in a variety of business models. As a product manager, I found my enthusiasm for creating and delivering intricate data-driven features in software applications. I also learned how to give clients vertical slices of functionality that will have an immediate impact.
